ENGLISH DAY CELEBRATION AT COLEGIO DEL BOSQUE BILINGÜE

On May 6th, our school experienced an extraordinary English Day filled with creativity, cultural exploration, collaboration, and meaningful learning. Throughout the day, students participated in immersive activities inspired by celebrations from around the world, using English as a tool for communication, interaction, and discovery.

This special event allowed students to strengthen their language skills through authentic and engaging experiences while developing creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and cultural awareness in a dynamic learning environment.

Barranquilla Carnival

Students explored one of Colombia’s most colourful and iconic celebrations through an interactive guessing game. By asking yes/no questions in English, they identified traditional carnival characters while practicing communication and participation skills in a fun and meaningful way.

Venice Festival

Elegance and creativity came together in this inspiring station. Students enjoyed a fashion show inspired by Venice and designed their own imaginative outfits, expressing ideas and personal style while exploring artistic and cultural elements through English.

Summer Solstice – United Kingdom

Students travelled virtually to the United Kingdom and discovered the beauty and mystery of Stonehenge through a sunset simulation. They created their own Stonehenge models and observed how shadows interact with the structure, connecting culture, creativity, and observation.

Edinburgh Festival

Creativity took centre stage as students designed puppets and performed original puppet shows. Through storytelling and performance, they strengthened their confidence, imagination, and communication skills while exploring artistic expression.

First Monday of May

This joyful station welcomed the spirit of spring and summer through traditional dance and creative activities. Students crafted flower crowns that reflected their personalities while participating actively in collaborative experiences.

Day of the Dead

One of the most meaningful moments of the day invited students to honour loved ones who left a lasting legacy in their lives. Through heartfelt letters of gratitude, students reflected on the importance of memory, family, and emotional connection in a respectful and thoughtful activity.

Tanabata

Inspired by the Japanese legend of Tanabata, students reflected on their personal goals, dreams, and aspirations. They wrote wishes for prosperity and success while learning about perseverance, hope, and cultural traditions from Japan.

Saint Patrick’s Day

Excitement and teamwork filled the environment during a thrilling treasure hunt challenge. Students followed clues, solved problems collaboratively, and competed in teams, promoting communication, leadership, and critical thinking.

Walpurgis Night

Students experienced a magical and imaginative activity inspired by storytelling traditions. They created symbolic “potions” representing happiness, love, success, and personal wishes while exploring creativity through language and culture.

Aliens Day

Adventure and adrenaline became part of the learning experience during an exciting escape room challenge. Students worked together to solve clues and complete missions while practicing teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.

Grand Finale

To conclude this unforgettable celebration, the school community enjoyed an incredible concert with special guests who filled the atmosphere with music, energy, and excitement, creating a joyful ending for an amazing day of learning and cultural celebration.
