BILINGUALISM PROJECT A PROPOSAL TO STRENGTHEN ENGLISH LEVEL

Bogotá, Colombia – August 2025 — Colegio del Bosque Bilingüe continues to take bold steps in its commitment to bilingual education with a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing English language learning across all levels.

Among the most exciting developments is the upcoming partnership with Education First (EF), a global leader in international language education. This strategic alliance will open doors for students and families to explore a wide range of educational opportunities, including international exchange programs, language immersion experiences, and exclusive benefits tailored to support language development beyond the classroom.

In addition, eleventh-grade students will soon take the TOEFL Junior exam, an internationally recognized assessment designed to measure English proficiency in real-world academic and social contexts. This initiative reflects the dedication to preparing students for global communication and academic excellence.

As part of its evaluation and placement strategies, Colegio del Bosque Bilingüe will also be conducting a placement test in collaboration with National Geographic Learning, the school’s official educational publisher. The results will guide teachers in providing personalized support and ensuring each student is on the right track in their language learning journey.

Finally, to encourage students' progress and passion for the English language, the English team prepared the second English Day. This highly anticipated event will feature a variety of interactive activities, games, performances, and showcases—all designed to highlight students’ communicative skills in a fun and festive atmosphere.

These initiatives reflect Colegio del Bosque Bilingüe’s mission to empower students as confident, capable bilingual citizens of the world.

ENGLISH DAY AND IMMERSIVE ADVENTURE

The English Day – Second Term was a special opportunity to celebrate our students’ dedication, commitment, and progress in learning English. This event recognized those who consistently worked hard to improve their skills, demonstrating perseverance, enthusiasm, and responsibility throughout the academic term.

During the ceremony, students received a Certificate of Achievement as a token of recognition for their continuous effort in class. The certificates highlighted not only academic performance but also the students’ positive attitude and motivation to strengthen their bilingual skills, which are key for their future.

The celebration of English Day reflects our institution’s commitment to fostering bilingualism and creating meaningful spaces where students can demonstrate their learning process. It was not only an academic recognition but also a moment of pride for our school community, motivating students to continue striving for excellence.

On the other hand, this day was to show the students’ synthesis projects and their amazing performance during the “Volvamos a la plaza” project. We made a sort of scenario in which students were able to invest in the project they liked the most. Students from Retoños to 3rd grade showed their skills to sell their products, 4th and 5th graders could sell their newspapers and 6th to7th grders could create their own business. Students from all the grades manage their money and they had the opportunity to create a meaningful experience during the day.
After this event, students went to some immersive scenarios in which they have to use English language to complete the puzzles prepared for some students.

Congratulations to all our students for their achievements, and may this recognition inspire them to keep growing in their English learning journey!
